Farshid Fathi

Happy New Year, everyone!

I want to ask for prayer for a Christian pastor, Farshid Fathi, imprisoned in Iran. He’s been given an additional one-year sentence because alcohol was found in a ward adjacent to him and he was blamed. This is a ridiculous reason to sentence someone to another year of prison, especially when the person has been framed. He can appeal the sentence (and I’m sure he will), so please pray the sentence will be dropped, in accordance with God’s will. Farshid has served four years of his original six-year sentence.

Thank you!

Hebrews 13:3 Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies. (NLT)

  1. Hi Rach,

Did you know that, over a year ago, a friend of mine went to Iran just to get himself arrested on behalf of 5 imprisoned Iranian Christians? One of the 5 was Farshid. Lookup: Pastor Eddie/Gadfly Nacion’s on Facebook or Youtube. Praying for Iran and the her persecuted church.

  2. Praying for him and Pastor Sayeed and others who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. It makes me think of Luke 12:56 when people doubt that God is real and Jesus is the Messiah. “You hypocrites! You know how to analyze the appearance of the earth and the sky, but why do you not analyze this present time?”
The people doubted that Jesus was who He presented Himself to be. Nothing has changed after 2000 years.
    God Bless you!

  3. That’s just awful. — I read the book Captive In Iran & I was shocked at the things people went to prison for & the amount of time served for them. — I will be praying for him! 🙂

    • Thank you. At this time, the sentence appears to be upheld. So now we can continue to pray that it be dropped, but also pray for strength, strong faith, courage, and patience for Farshid and his family. 🙂
